An Important Security Update for ScentBase

April 29, 2012

Possibly this doesn't matter much to anyone other than geeks like me, but anyway.

In the wee hours of Friday night/Saturday morning, I made an important update to ScentBase.com. ScentBase is now secured with a 256-bit SSL certificate. This means that anytime you log in to ScentBase, your username, password, and any other information you send to us is encrypted. In other words, your account is safe... at least on our end.

On your end, you should still observe best practices for securing your data. So don't log in to your account from a Wi-Fi network that isn't password protected, etc.

Are you having problems logging in to ScentBase since the update?
If you're having trouble logging in, or if you get redirected to my portfolio site (cammycat.com) when you try to visit ScentBase, you need to clear your browser's cache and delete your ScentBase cookies.

If you use Firefox, follow these instructions to clear your cache and follow these instructions to delete your cookies.

If you use Chrome, follow these instructions to clear your cache and cookies.

If you use Safari, follow these instructions to clear your cache and follow these instructions to delete your cookies.

If you use Internet Explorer, you should really check out one of the other three browsers. ;) If you use IE9, follow these instructions to clear your cache and cookies. If you use IE8, follow these instructions to clear your cache and cookies.

If you have any other questions, problems, etc., please feel free to contact me.
