ZOMG Smells Limited Edition Perfume Oil (Limited)
Hi. My name is Holly. I have been wanting to do this for SO LONG. :D
Now that this bright day has come, now that I have actually gotten to make this shameful pun in public, I want to share the joy. This is the closest I've been able to come to the scent of an actual holly tree living in the woods with actual holly berries. Holly berries, not that I take it personally or anything, aren't sweet — they're actually a little bitter. And mildly poisonous, so...better to just smell them, really.
As a side note, the yerba maté shrub is a holly (Ilex paraguariensis). But a fun, tropical, stimulating one. And the only caffeinated plant native to North America is the Yaupon Holly, or...Ilex vomitoria. Yup, vomitoria. Nice. It seems really gross to mention that in a description of a perfume but hey, NOW YOU KNOW.
This is the scent of firm wood, glossy green leaves, moist earth and leathery little berries. My holly in her temperate forest is also dreaming of maté, because it's sunny there.
