In some places a seasonal inconvenience, in others a lifestyle: swatting a mosquito lunching on one's arm is a nearly universal human activity. We like the odd sense of harmony, there. So, for its part in bringing us all together as a species, we salute the iconic Anopheles mosquito, age-old co-inhabiter of human settlements and bearer of the malaria eukaryote. We remind ourselves that it's not the mosquito's fault.
Bitter lemon, ginger, fir-pitch, pink pepper. Things that bite, on a base of skin musk and carnation. Like quinine, only much nicer!
