Wiggle General Catalog Perfume Oil (Available)
I won't lie, I almost missed out on this one. Those of you who've followed me for a while know my complicated relationship with vanilla. The fact that this scent smells a bit like bubble gum in the bottle almost made me give up, but then I checked myself, knowing that perfume oil doesn't open up without skin. "Oh fine, I'll put it on!", I grumped, determined to do my due diligence, and then I got a surprise. I fell head over heels for the single most golden, glowing, angelic scent I've stumbled across in a long time. Like Audrey, and DuBois before it, Flaxen strikes me as a New Year's Eve or bridal scent, something bright and shiny and able to hold its own with a killer dress. But with its accessible warmth and sweetness, it could go just as easily with your favorite sweater or all-day flannel pjs. I would go out on a limb and say that this is a vanilla you don't have to like vanilla to enjoy. Sandalwood and jasmine ground and round it out into something full and fleshy, bright and simple, but still elegant and interesting.
