Fun facts:
Dragon fruit only blooms one time at night ready for pollination from bats and moths and then will close permanently at sunrise. If pollinated, it will eventually form into edible fruit.
It is also called pitaya, pitahaya, or strawberry pear.
According to Aztec literature, Pitahaya fruits date back to the 13th century.
It is the fruit of several different cactus species.
