Hydra the water snake is the biggest of summer constellations; long and twisting like a serpent. One myth is the Greek god, Apollo, was given a glass of water to drink by Corvus the crow and in the glass was a hydra. In a fit of rage, Apollo threw the glass, the hydra and the crow into the air and they now hang in the night sky making the three constellations Crater, Corvus and Hydra.
