Thus spoke St. Urho unto the fields, on that fine spring day many years ago — that day when he, with nothing put righteousness and pure Finn vim, drove the grasshoppers from Finland and saved the grape crop from their twitchy, scourge-y little mandibles. We honor St. Urho's mighty works with his own scent already, but half of the song still goes unsung.
For what is "Heinäsirkka, heinäsirkka, mene täältä hiiteen!" without the heinäsirkka? Or, in English, what good is "Grasshopper, grasshopper, go to hell!" if there are no grasshoppers to go? With this scent we honor the Finnish grasshoppers who heard the great saint speak and prudently hit the road. He couldn't have done it without you, little guys!
