ZOMG Smells Limited Edition Perfume Oil (Limited)
The common fruit fly hides some fascinating sexual secrets. We're going to expose them to you.
Heh heh.
Drosophilia bifurca produces sperm with tails twenty times longer than the length of his body. Why? These giant sperm both go faster than little ones and shove aside rival sperm on their way to the eggs, like rude little sperm racecars.
And then there's Drosophilia melanogaster, beloved of geneticists worldwide for its short reproductive cycle and amenability to genetic manipulation. The male of the species Drosophilia melanogaster has SEXCOMBS on his first set of legs, my friends, the better for lovin' his ladyfly. (Really. They're actually called sexcombs. That is a real name.) But that delightful bit of anatomy is not the best part; even its name is sultry. The Greek translates to dark-bellied dew lover. Beautiful. And for that reason, our red-eyed beauty Drosophilia melanogaster wins the title — literally — and we offer it up to you as our pinup flyboy this February.
Fruity, lush, sweet, and slightly overripe: sticky peach, strawberry and mango chunks in a brown sugar glaze, coated with musk and topped with a drizzle of palmarosa.
