ZOMG Smells Limited Edition Perfume Oil (Limited)
There's a fair number of insect species, especially spiders, for which a successful mating involves the male being eaten by the female. The Australian Redback Spider is special even among that group.
You see, in the Australian Redback, the mouth and the genital openings of a female are close enough that the best way for a male to gain access to a female's genitals AND to have enough time to do anything with them is to...be held in her mouth. A male will not only launch himself into a female's mandibles, but will drag half-chewed males out of her mouth so he can jam himself in there more effectively. And since the males only mate once...
...well, you get a giant spider lady surrounded by a clutch of tiny males scuttling around her feet. These males are all begging desperately, in whatever way spiders can beg, for her to use them, consume them, and discard them.
That, good readers, is something.
Our take on it is tart, musky, and sharp: lemongrass, galbanum, red sage, red cedar, and dusty musks.
