The Aroma: One of the most quintessential modern arctic foods is a very odd flat hardtack cracker that is dubbed 'Pilot Bread'. Almost every Alaskan has a fond memory of growing up with this easy snack, and many have their own special recipe. Alaskans love it so much that we consume about 95% percent of the product sold in the U.S. This is my Alaska gourmand scent.....pale bread with butter and tons of sugary sweetness.
