A different take on the sea. This is not aquatic in the traditional sense but concentrates on the smell and feel of the blue waters of the Mediterranean and what it feels like to swim in limestone grottoes. This is cool, dry and blue with a kiss of lily of the valley and a rather unusual iris note I found which mimics stone. The Chinchilla is a perfectly refreshing dip off the stern of a wooden sailing vessel anchored off....the Island of Gozo in Malta. I will say no more except that it is exquisite. It is named for a ship which belonged to my husband's ancestor, Captain John Robinson who really did own a merchant vessel called The Chinchilla. I loved the name and the fact it was a boat and so I would make it into a beautiful cooling perfume for summer, Chinchilla.
