Gnostic means esoteric secret knowledge, and this the scent of things which I consider most beautifully recondite! On the base of the last Cambienne, Catherine, I am now laying an exquisite blanket of sacred oude wood and cedar, layered with a bit of spikenard, evened out with warm amber and golden amber, shot through with golden musk, with a large side of vanilla wood (this is not the dry vanilla nor the sweet confectionery vanilla I have used, this is a woody one). Finally, there are essences of burnt bamboo. Some of these ingredients are no longer made and so the last of them is going into this spectacular blend. Very woody, strong, sophisticated, earthy, warm and sexual. For all of the heavy ingredients, this one ended up with a charmingly buoyant edge which keeps it from being too solemn.
