Possets Cambienne Limited Edition Perfume Oil (Limited)

The very last Cambienne of 2012 is indeed the most beautiful and sexiest of all. Amazingly complex but astoundingly harmonious, this is what Cambienne is at its zenith. The name is just a pun on the word fêtes but I was thinking of the blind excitement of the Greek concept of hot pursuit by supernatural nemeses. Exhilarating!

I started off with a rare black sandalwood, and combined it with the chypre which I had made especially earlier this year, a drop of rose for smoothness, and a heavy combination of a divine dry dragons' blood and tabac blonde compound which I had been wanting to put in a perfume. Next I added a chocolate and a vanilla liquor (which are very grown up and almost non foody versions of the famous confection flavorings...these are far more tangy than candy). One of my favorite gray musks adds a backbone and a beautiful oakmoss and a very small drop of vetiver which actually helps to create a light and ethereal side to Fêtes and Furies. Then I put in one of the newest discoveries of the year, Black Cumin (which smells nothing like cumin, more like a strikingly lovely caraway but far better).

For the grand finish I added an infusion of civet, you have to be very careful with this element or else the entire batch is ruined, but put in the right amount and it is a poem!
