Very classic, very dry, surprisingly light hearted, not in the least bit sweet. Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh are given a perfumy treatment while retaining the resin feel to the blend. Very long lasting despite the profound ingredients. Beautiful stuff this.
Caspar is traditionally said to be the King of Sheba and represents the frankincense brought to Jesus.We will never know if that is true but it's a charming thought and one which goes well with this fragrance. Resinous.
The image of King Caspar is one of the 3 wise men creche figures from my childhood. I painted him long ago and put "jewels" in his "casket" so he would have something beautiful to offer. His cloak is actually my mother's fingernail polish! I thought it would be great and she was amused by my earnestness.
