In a word — iconic. Emmeline Pankhurst was introduced to the women's suffrage movement when she was 14, and never looked back. She fought for women's rights in the UK the rest of her life, sometimes literally. Her Women’s Social and Political Union was notorious for its militant tactics and commitment to “deeds not words" and she was arrested numerous times. She endured solitary confinement, and brutal force feeding during her hunger strikes, but never quit fighting and turned the tactics used against her to gain publicity for the cause. Emmeline Pankhurst viewed the suffrage fight as a war, and it was a war that she won.?

There were so many amazing women who could have inspired the fragrances in our new Miss Behave collection based on women in history, but we knew we had to include Emmeline Pankhurst! Her namesake fragrance is based our vision of a women's suffrage march on a rainy day in Edwardian England.
