Nocturne Alchemy Limited Edition Perfume Oil (Limited)
This is Purnima Hessonite. Our smoky and sweet Patchouli Purnima.
The Moon and all her splendour, caressing our planet with her light refracted from the sun.
Purnima is Ancient Sanskrit for Full Moon. The Moon, considered by the Ancients as the evening replacement of the Sun. A balance of darkness lit by the touch of the sun and then given to our planet, a place to walk with light above and Earth below.
The very first full moon I had ever looked upon in Egypt, was when we stayed at a hotel on the edge of Cairo, enough to walk to the roof of one of the main buildings and see the full disk of the moon come from beneath one of the Pyramids in the distance and traverse the sky. It was as if a disk of light was breathed out of the Pyramid and on the other side the Sun drove gold deep into the Ancient land. I remember it vividly as Puccini's Aria 'O mio Babbino Caro' played in my earphones, the voice of Kiri te Kanawa singing to the moon, as it were, and raising her with her voice. It was breathtaking to see the Purnima in Egypt. It was a time I will never, ever forget. How the climax of the song peaks and how the moon gently rises with the orchestra and sets above as the strings decresendo. If there were any moment in my life that touched my soul and restored all faith in mankind, it was at that moment. The beauty and eloquence of the moon and the Pyramid lit from above, with the notion that time and man are one just as moon and sun are one, we are the in-between, of Earth, of man and of woman.
This is our ode to her and the romance she lights upon us as Fall approaches.
