Nocturne Alchemy Limited Edition Perfume Oil (Limited)
One of the things I always look for, when traveling in Egypt, is Egyptian Musk. When we went about working on the perfume 'Ankh' in our Permanent Collection, we wanted the word to be represented by the arc of the meaning of 'eternal life'. With this representation, Egyptian Musk has this subliminal hold, when it is applied it seems like nothing is there and that is the magic of the musk flower, it takes hold of our chemistry and binds with it and in a few moments, you begin to become enveloped in this subtle, sweet and encompassing perfume that is both subliminal and peaceful. I have fond memories of walking along the Nile and holding my wrist to my nose with the sun gleaming in the blue sky and feeling one with everything. Egyptian Musk has been around for thousands of years having been worn by the Ancient Egyptians.
For Frankincense Ankh, we worked with one of our wonderful suppliers of Resin in Egypt. They tapped the gum resin tears from the Frankincense tree, specifically the most aromatic of Frankincense comes from the Boswellia Sacra — a small tree that is specific in location and needs the arid humidity of the desert to hold a viscous sap within that, when tapped, can solidify into what is called, the tears (for how they are shaped and dry hard). They also remind me of amber drops. People use these during the holidays, religions, incantations etc... representing something positive.
We took the beautiful Frankincense tears and heated them via an alchemical method and slowly took the perfume oil and sifted the element into three different types of Egyptian Musk, bathing the Frankincense note each time and layering the perfume in a way we found grounds the intensity that sometimes a pure Frankincense can give. We're even including a sample tear of Frankincense resin with your perfume, so you can have it, use it in your incense (heated on charcoal disc) or open your bottle and put it inside your perfume to amplify the scent over time.
The process takes a while and we began the process in June of this year and both Frankincense Ankh and Myrrh Ankh are ready to enjoy for the season.
