In Egypt, the Moon was the nightly replacement of the Sun and the Ruler of the Stars. For our Full Moons of 2014, we wanted to use the Mythology of Egypt as a parallel to the perfume, we wanted to create a perfume built on layers under the moons influence during full moon and for this perfume toward Lunar Eclipse, 2014. In Ancient Egypt, the moon was considered to be of rejuvenation, rightly so during the cyclical renewal of the moon.
In preparation, we began nightly discussions beginning on the New Moon (March 30th) and continued our talks and thoughts throughout until the Lunar Eclipse (April 15, the first of two Lunar Eclipses for 2014, the second will be October 8th). We took the entire Lunar Cycle of March 30 — April 15 and on the evening of the 16th (the end of the cycle, the Lunar Eclipse), in our Studio; Jacek, Bastet and myself took it upon ourselves to work for hours basing our equations on written and verbal demonstration and theory, thus we began to create the actual perfume built by three perfumists during one evening, energized on the rooftop of our Studio with the beams of the Moon (and quite unapologetic, a few glasses of Champagne for this Lunar Eclipse). This is where Androsphinx Moon began and the future project of our Moons of 2014 would become an endeavour not to be missed. The last of our moons will arrive in March 2015.
