In the era of truly intricate, grandiose and sometimes complicated attire, there were edicts from the clergy in place, (called Sumptuary Laws), to ensure the populace did not dress above their station and so for many woman the fanciful and the beautiful were forever out of their grasp.
Into this milieu a simple seamstress in Paris in the 1400s made a bold and brave statement by wearing her own sumptuous creations. She was arrested for her transgressions, the best-dressed woman in gaol! Perfume was also under the same restriction, meant only for those of royal lineage.
Thankfully, these days we can dress (and smell) as we like, and we've created a tribute to our muse's moment of luxurious rebellion...a scent which evokes the silk and fur (hence the name) she so loved to wear: a thoroughly rich blend of florals, spices, woods and resins, with a touch of mink musk and notes of silk and linen to feel as comfortable and decadent as the most beloved of garments caressing your skin.
