Upon the banks of the holy river, the perfumed city granted all who dwelled within a surfeit of joy. But despite their prosperous and happy lives, love was not always assured, and so the maidens often devised perfumed schemes to lure the ones their hearts had chosen closer still, till in time those desired could finally realized the folly of their reserve. They made petitions to the Iron Angel: she was swift in justice and in love, the power of her divine intervention a blinding light by which all could be revealed to the one who required her wisdom.
With offerings of cedar and frankincense for grounding, cinnamon for passion, saffron for love and happiness, and vanilla for a sweet existence, they would then place before Her the sacred champaka, flower of perfection in all aspects, hoping that they too might find one with those attributes: sincerity, faith, aspiration, devotion and surrender.
