Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse

This little critter has garnered a lot of media attention of late, mostly due to the erroneous charges of conservatives linking the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse to an earmarked $30 million of the Economic Stimulus Package. While this endangered animal could use that $30 million all to itself, in fact, the group obtaining the funds said it would work toward conserving the salt marshes and wetlands of the San Francisco Bay area which happen to be the natural habitat for the mouse. A good start! Pollution, commercial salt harvesters, and increased recreational marine activities have endangered the Harvest Mouse.
