Good Judy Time Capsule : 1920s: The Roaring Twenties General Catalog Perfume Oil (Available)
The 1920s marked an era of increased racial pride and heritage for folks of African-American decent, namely in music (especially jazz), literature, art, and fashion. Originally called "The New Negro Movement," the period was later termed the Harlem Renaissance for the creative and redefined cultural pride that took place. Brought about, in part, by increased migration from the south to the north, there was a strong desire to incorporate urban life and sophistication. Common themes involved racial consciousness, marginalization and inequities, cultural traditions, and racial instability.
