Living in the jungles of south and southeast Asia, The Dhole (also called an Asiatic Wild Dog or Red Dog) is in danger of extinction from habitat destruction and human persecution. Highly social with a strict hierarchy, Dholes live and hunt in family packs. While not as known as the Wolf or other hunting dogs, Dholes appeared in a story by Rudyard Kipling in 1865, but were depicted as more aggressive than in real life.
