Spell-casting with the ancient Aramaic word Abracadabra was popular enough in its day to get co-opted by Gnostics and become a viable medical treatment in classical Rome. The incantation would be written in the shape of an inverted pyramid, with Abracadabra at the top, and letters falling away from each line until the last line was simply A. Reasons for the pyramid vary, but one belief was that as letters fell away, so would evil spirits fall away from the body, bringing about a magical transition from illness to health. Our Shiver Ensemble is about winter itself, about the gradual falling away of a season, and about the magical yearly transition from hiver to printemps. The four scents share one note in common: sweet, spun honey.
Hiver: Ruby grapefruit, French cognac absolute, pink pepper, mirabelle plum, honey, and a drop of aged patchouli.
